Global Perspectives Fair 2026: When Learning Goes Beyond Borders

05/nov/2026

How can we prepare young people to analyze complex problems, engage in dialogue with people from different cultures, and propose solutions to global challenges? This is one of the goals of the Global Perspectives subject, a component of the international curriculum offered by Colégio Stocco that develops essential 21st-century skills through research, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.

One opportunity to put these skills into practice took place during the fourth edition of the Global Perspectives Fair 2026 Latin America, held from May 18 to 22. The event, promoted by Cambridge International, brought together students from different countries in a global learning experience, in which participants shared research and presented possible solutions to contemporary challenges.

What is the Global Perspectives subject?

Global Perspectives is an innovative subject, taught in English, that is part of the Cambridge international curriculum and aims to develop curious, critical students who are prepared to act in an increasingly interconnected world.

Throughout the classes, students investigate local and global issues, carry out academic research, and construct evidence-based arguments. In this process, they develop intellectual autonomy, analytical skills, and effective communication.

The subject, like the Cambridge program as a whole, also fosters highly valued skills for universities and the job market, such as complex problem-solving, collaborative work, leadership, creativity, autonomy, and global awareness.

An international learning experience

The Global Perspectives Fair represents a unique opportunity for students to share the results of their investigations with an international audience.

In 2026, the online event brought together, in its fourth edition, students from 56 schools located in nine Latin American countries. Over the five days of presentations, 78 projects were shared with an audience of 1,325 participants from 86 countries around the world.

More than impressing with the numbers, the event stands out for the connections it fosters among students from different cultures, broadening understanding of global challenges and their multiple realities.

This exchange of experiences is one of the pillars of Cambridge international education and contributes to the formation of citizens prepared to act in a globalized society.

The protagonism of Colégio Stocco students

Representing Colégio Stocco, two groups of students from the 8th grade and the 2nd year of high school participated in the 2026 edition, taking ownership of every stage of the learning process.

From choosing the topics to researching, analyzing data, developing arguments, and presenting the results, the students were responsible for building their own projects. This process strengthens autonomy, investigative capacity, and confidence to present and defend ideas in international academic contexts.

More than just presenting a project, the students experienced an authentic academic journey, putting into practice the skills developed throughout the school year.

Sustainability and 21st-century challenges

The projects presented addressed topics directly related to sustainability and the challenges faced by contemporary society.

One of the groups investigated the impacts of the fast fashion industry on the environment. The students analyzed issues such as the excessive consumption of natural resources, waste generation, and the challenges related to the large-scale production and disposal of clothing. The research also encouraged reflections on more conscious and sustainable consumption habits.

In addition to environmental issues, the students discussed topics related to education and social development, including reflections on the characteristics of an ideal school and possible paths toward building it.

These reflections broadened the students’ understanding of the relationships between economic development, innovation, sustainability, and quality of life, while also reinforcing their responsibility as agents of social transformation.

English in real communication contexts

One of the major differentials of the Global Perspectives Fair is the opportunity to use English in authentic communication situations.

During the event, all presentations and interactions were conducted in English, allowing students to use the language to share research, answer questions, argue, debate ideas, and dialogue with participants from different parts of the world.

This experience strengthens not only linguistic fluency but also the confidence to communicate in international academic and professional environments, making language learning more meaningful and connected to reality.

Preparation for the future

Participation in the Global Perspectives Fair demonstrates how the Cambridge international curriculum expands the learning opportunities offered by Colégio Stocco.

By connecting research, sustainability, English-language communication, and international collaboration, the program contributes to the formation of students prepared to understand the challenges of the present and act responsibly in building the future.

Once again, our students were praised by the Cambridge team for the quality of their presentations, the depth of their research, and the relevance of the topics addressed. This recognition reflects the students’ commitment and the excellence of the work developed throughout the year.

Congratulations to our Stoqueiros for representing Colégio Stocco with dedication, knowledge, and protagonism in yet another international learning experience.
